Leveraging Committee Expertise

As a member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, Moreno is positioned to advance the airport's infrastructure priorities. The committee has jurisdiction over transportation, aviation, and related federal agencies. He also serves on the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee; the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee; and the Senate Budget Committee.

A Business Leader's Perspective on Workforce Development

Before his election to the Senate in 2024, Moreno built his career as a successful entrepreneur and business leader in Ohio. He began at General Motors, where he rose to become a general manager at one of the nation's leading automotive dealership groups by age 26. In 2005, he invested in a car dealership near Cleveland, eventually building the Collection Auto Group into one of the largest dealership networks in the Midwest, creating thousands of jobs across Ohio.

Beyond automotive, Moreno co-founded CHAMP Titles to modernize vehicle title systems using blockchain technology and launched Ownum, a company focused on secure digital infrastructure. He also established the Sales Center for Excellence at Cleveland State University to train the next generation of business leaders and served on the board of trustees for the MetroHealth System.

The tour included stops at the airport's historic community hangar and state-of-the-art indoor classrooms and flight simulators. The visit concluded with discussions between Moreno, university leaders, and aeronautics students on workforce development and the future of ÌÇÐÄÆƽâ°æ State's flight and engineering programs.
